Trojans Win On The Road to Colburn

The Trojans ran out 42-0 winners against associate team Colburn Blackcats, the Blackcats are a new team looking to join the league in 2016.

1st Quarter – The Trojans with a very small squad started well when they took the opening drive down to the Cats 3yd line, but the rookie team held their ground and turned the ball over, the Cats O was struggling to move the ball and 3rd and long Trojans CB Michael How picked the QB and returned it for the opening score.

The Trojans scored on their next possession following some nice running from rookie QB Kris “I changed the play” Kennedy and RB Josh Polson who would finish the day with 4TDs 2 of the scores coming in the 1st Q.

2nd Quarter – The Cats defence were staring to find their feet and were making some nice plays forcing the Trojans to a couple of 3 and out plays, the Trojans would add a further TD from RB David Strachan late in the quarter could give the Trojans a 26-0 half time lead.

3rd Quarter – The Blackcats received the kick off and after a few decent runs turned the ball over again this time by a fumble, the Trojans added a TD hen RB Polson added his 3rd TD for the day from 25yd out.

4th Quarter – The Blackcats were now giving valuable game time to backups, both teams were finding the conditions underfoot tough, but it was RB Polson who added the final TD this time from 55yds out following some excellent blocking by the WR group.

Trojans HC Gary McNey commented on the result “the result is not relevant, this was about getting live game time for the Blackcats who done well considering they have just started playing ball”

“We have installed a new O playbook and rookie QB Kris Kennedy showed promise which considering we only installed it 3 weeks ago he did well”
